Barfi! is 2012 movie starring Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Ileana D'Cruz, directed by Anurag Basu. Ranbir and Priyanka have beautifully played their characters. The movie has a great Story and an equally great Direction. This is an excellent movie and i think that i am going to watch it a number of times. I bore the experience of the movie in my heart for a long time after the movie ended. This is must-must watch movie.

Ishaqzaade is a romance drama movie directed by Habib Faisal and stars debutant Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra. It is an awesome movie and surprises the viewer from time to time. The movie has got a different story and not the traditional love story movie types. It has got some good music. This is a seriously recommended movie. If you haven't watched it till yet, then just watch it. Nobody should miss a movie like this one.

I Am Legend - 2007

I Am Legend is a nice post-apocalyptic science fiction thriller movie starring Will Smith and directed by Francis Lawrence. The movie is based on Richard Matheson's novel of the same name. Two other movies The Last Man on Earth and The Omega Man are also based on the same novel. The movie is a bit boring in the beginning and takes about 30 minutes for the viewer to sink into the movie and everything becomes very much interesting later on. Yes, you can watch this movie as it contains a nice theme but it is not one of those must watch movies.

Toba Tek Singh - 2005

Toba Tek Singh is a movie based on a short story of the same name by one of the greatest story-teller of the 20th century, Saadat Hasan Manto. The story follows inmates in a Lahore asylum some of who are to be transferred to India following the 1947 Partition. The story is a "powerful satire" on the relationship between India and Pakistan The movie begins with introduction by Khushwant Singh. The movie has a nice blend of a great story and good acting. This is a must watch movie especially for those who can understand Hindustani language.

West is West is a British movie which is sequel to 1999 movie East is East. The movie stars Om Puri , Aqib Khan, Ila Arun, Linda Bassett and others. West is West is a great movie, it is a far more interesting and funny movie than East is East. The movie contains an awesome philosophy and rather than just giving the pleasure of watching it, it teaches a lot of things to the viewer. This is a sure shot movie but to see this you must know about the background in which the story is set. So, you must either watch East is East, which is a bit boring or just read the summary of the movie.

It is about a man named George Khan(played by Om Puri), who expects his children to follow Pakistani ways but the children cannot do so as they are born in Britain and have never been to Pakistan too. The movie Khuda Ke Liye seems to take a thing or two from this movie. This is a good comedy movie and has a more awesome sequel to it named West is West. West is West is more recommended but to watch it you first have to watch this one even though it may loose the plot sometimes.

The deals with a person who is driving around the city looking for someone who could bury him he takes overdose of sleeping pills and lies at the spot. The movie won Palme d'Or(Highest Prize Awarded) at Cannes Film Festival. This is a great and a must watch movie even though some people might get bored due to long monotonous shots but were important for the movie to leave an effect on the viewer.

Kahaani is directed by Sujoy Ghosh and the movie has been declared a Super-Hit. The budget of the movie was 8 Crore and  it has grossed 75 Crore in just three weeks. Vidya Balan has done the trick again after a successful Dirty Picture and has proved her excellence as an actress. The movie has a lot of suspense for the viewer and nobody is going to guess that what is going to happen next and this is best part of it. It contains some local music and has been successful in showing the real Kolkata. This is a sure shot movie, you shouldn't waste time in other activities and should go and watch it right now.

It is based a true heart-rending story and shows the life of six Indian Army taken as Prisoners of Wars and their conquest to reach their home again. Watch the movie to see if they reach India or not. This is one of the must watch movies. 

Mr. and Mrs. Iyer

Mr. and Mrs. Iyer is an Indian English Drama movie revolving around communal strife in India. The movie is directed by Aparna Sen and stars Konkona Sen Sharma and Rahul Bose. The movie won a few International Awards and got good reviews. This is a seriously good movie and is very much recommended.

Jihne Mera Dil Luteya - 2011

Jihne Mera Dil Luteya is a Punjabi movie starring Gippy Grewal, Diljit Dosanjh, Neeru Bajwa and Jaswinder Bhalla. The movie was declared a blockbuster. A good comedy but only for the young generation and the movie failed to deliver a good ending and rather everything became hotchpotch. For whom the movie was made have probably seen the movie and wouldn't recommend it to others.

Over The Hedge - 2006

Over The Hedge is a computer animated family comedy action movie based on the characters from the comic strip of the same name. The movie is a good satire on human beings and there is dialogue also which says that humans live to eat while the animals eat to live. The will give a lesson or two to the young fellows who will watch it. This is a totally recommended movie for children as well as animation lovers like me.

A Monster In Paris - 2011

A Monster in Paris is a French animated movie directed by Bibo Bergeron. The movie has been received well by critics and audience in its native France as well as internationally. This is a very good movie, great story and animation lovers should watch this movie even though it's recommended to others too. 

The Dirty Picture - 2011

The Dirty Picture, as everybody knows, is a biopic movie based on the life of Silk Smitha and directed by Milan Luthria. The movie has been a critically acclaimed as well as a box-office hit movie. Vidya Balan has done brilliant acting in the movie and has started a new era in Indian cinema in which actresses will also be keen to play the leading role rather than just supporting the actor. Naseeruddin Shah, Tushar Kapoor and Emraan Hashmi play the supporting roles in the movie. The movie won many national awards including the Filmfare Award and the National Film Award for Best Actress for Vidya Balan. 

Paan Singh Tomar - 2012

Paan Singh Tomar is a biopic movie based on the true story of a Amry soldier turned sportsman who won Gold Medal many times at Indian National Games but then became one of the most wanted dacoit of all time. Irrfan Khan has beautifully played the role and the movie has been directed well by Tigmanshu Dhulia. Critics have praised the movie and it has grossed 4 Crore rupees in just a week. This movie should be seen.

The Secret World of Arrietty - 2010

The Secret World of Arrietty is one of the best animated fantasy movies. The film tells the story of Arrietty, a young Borrower, who lives under the floorboards of a typical household. The movie is based on the Mary Norton's novel The Borrowers . The movie has been very well received by critics as well as audience. The movie won the Animation of the Year award at Japan Academy Prize award ceremony.

The Pursuit of Happyness - 2006

The Pursuit of Happyness is biographical drama based on one year struggle of Chris Gardner. The movie is directed by Gabriele Muccino and stars Will Smith. Will Smith was nominated for Academy Award and Golden Globe for Best Actor. This is a very realistic movie and shows the life of the middle class in the present day America with the effects of recession on it. At the end it is a feel good movie and everybody must watch this.

Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close - 2011

Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close is an American Drama movie based on the novel of the same name. The movie is directed by Stephen Daldry and stars Thomas Horn , Tom Hanks, Max von Sydow and other actors. Thomas Horn , the child actor, has done brilliant acting in the movie. The movie was nominated for Academy Award for Best Picture and Best Actor in Supporting Role. It tells the story of a boy whose dad had died 9/11 and a year after the incident he goes into his father's room. There he accidently finds a key in a envelope on which name "Black" is written. He makes a list of all the people named Black in the city to find out the person who knows the secret of the key and the lock which it opens. The movie has a long lasting effect on the viewer.

Offside - 2006

Offside is directed by Jafar Panahi and was inspired by his daughter. The movie is about a girl who tries to watch a football match but women are banned from doing so in Iran. The movie won Silver Bear at Berlin Film Festival Grand Jury Prize in 2006. This movie should be seen.

Gandhi - 1982

Gandhi is probably the best movie on the life of Mahatma Gandhi and Ben Kingsley has done this role beautifully. The movie is directed by Richard Attenborough. The movie won 8 Academy Awards including the Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actor in Leading Role. The movie got broadly positive reviews. This is a truly must watch movie to give people a correct understanding about the history, about which there are many different misunderstandings.

Planet of the Apes - 2001

Planet of the Apes is an interesting science-fiction movie. The movie is based on the novel by Pierre Boulle and a 1968 movie of the same name.  The movie is directed by Tim Burton. It is a good movie but critics prefer the 1968 movie. The movie should be seen.

A Better Life - 2011

A Better Life is directed by Chris Weitz and shows the life of a particular Mexican family who are illegally staying in USA. The movie star Demián Bichir has been nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor. The movie has a long lasting effect on the viewer and keeps the viewer guessing about what is going to happen next. It is a very much realistic movie and has been received well by critics. It didn't do well at the Box Office but this is a good movie and should be seen.

Bicycle Thieves - 1948

Bicycle Thieves (Italian :- Ladri di biciclette) is Italian neorealist movie directed by Vittorio De Sica. Even though the movie needs no introduction, it was awarded Academy Honorary Award in 1950.  It is considered one of the greatest movies of all time.  The movie was listed on the top of the British Film Institute's list of the 50 films you should see by the age of 14. The movie has influenced many movie directors around the globe including Indian movie directors such as Satyajit Ray, Bimal Roy, Anurag Kashyap etc. The movie revolves around a poor man, whose bicycle is stolen, and his son. Everybody must watch this movie, this is not the one that you should miss.

The King's Speech - 2010

The King's Speech is a historical drama movie directed by Tom Hooper. The movie won 4 Academy Awards at 83rd Academy Awards including the Best Picture and Best Director. The movie is a bit boring but for those who stammer like i do, this could be a helpful movie. This movie should be given a try if you a bit higher aesthetic taste otherwise don't worry look for some other movie that would match your taste.

Kick-Ass - 2010

Kick-Ass is a black comedy superhero movie based on the comic book of the same name. The movie stars Aaron Johnson, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Chloë Moretz etc. It is a good movie but not the one that you would watch with your family. The movie contains a bit too much of violence and that too by a child. There is nothing in the movie to reflect on and there are not much surprises in it. The movie could be given a try but not a recommended one.

Hugo - 2011

Hugo is a great movie which has won many awards and is currently awaiting results of the 84th Academy Awards for which it is nominated in several categories. It is directed by Martin Scorsese, a good movie director who has won Academy Awards, BAFTAs, Golden Globes, Emmys, etc. The movie stars Asa Butterfield (Hugo Cabret), Ben Kingsley (Goerges Méliès), Chloë Grace Moretz (Isabelle), Sacha Baron Cohen (Station Inspector Gustave) and various other actors. The movie keeps surprising the viewer from time to time and from the very beginning binds the viewer with the movie. It is a good blend of comedy and surprise. The viewer is moved by the emotional changes in the characters. It has a good quality background music which beautifully compliments all the other things. The viewer can't even guess what the movie is going to be. The most important thing in the movie changes as the movie progresses. A good knowledge about first movies is given. And as the movie is set in Paris, love is in the air and has an effect on everybody. The is obviously a must watch.

Baran - 2001

First of all, for all those who don't know Persian(Farsi), Baran is a Farsi word which means rain and in the movie it is the name of the girl in the lead role. Baran is an excellent mind-blowing movie by Iranian movie director Majid Majidi. The movie is  Everything in the movie is just marvelous. It is a story of a boy who works at construction site and a girl who also works at that construction site but disguises herself as a boy. The way the movie is also amazing. The Lateef is left alone with the footprint of Baran's shoe in the mud and rain starts pouring. The movie also pinpoints the life of Afghan refugees living on the outskirts of Tehran. This is seriously a must watch movie.

The Pink Panther 2 - 2009

The Pink Panther 2 is a nice movie. The movie stars, beside Steve Martin as Jacques Clouseau, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who plays a negative role in the movie. The viewer can easily think about what is going to be the end. So not much of a thriller but yes if you want to spend some time, you can waste it on this movie. Suppose you have a free week or so and very few movies to watch then this movie can be seen. Not much recommended. The actor Steve Martin was nominated for Worst Actor award but lost it to Jonas Brothers.

The Forbidden Kingdom - 2008

The Forbidden Kingdom is the first movie in which both Jackie Chan and Jet Li have acted together. It is a Chinese-American martial arts-action movie. The movie gives a motivation to wanna be martial artists. The movie should be seen by all martial arts' fans.

Bol - 2011

Directed by the Shoaib Mansoor(Khuda Ke Liye), Bol is a social-drama movie. The life of women in the Pakistan's society is shown. Nothing can be prejudged about what will happen next and this is the best thing about it. It is quiet obvious that certain people won't be able to watch the full movie but those who will watch will be all praises after the movie ends. 

How to Train Your Dragon - 2010

How to Train Your Dragon is an excellent animation movie. It is one of the most unique movies i have ever seen. The movie received very much positive reviews and has 98% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The movie is just awesome and recommended to animation lovers, it is somewhat recommended to others too.

The Great Dictator - 1940

The Great Dictator is Charlie Chaplin's first true talking movie. As it happens in Charlie's other movies, this one is also a satire and this time the victim is Adolf Hitler and Nazism. Charlie successfully puts the ingredients of humor and satire in the same movie. As all other Charlie's movies, this one is also a highly recommended one.

Modern Times (Charlie Chaplin) - 1936

No man exists on this earth who could doubt the class of Charlie Chaplin. This is one of his best masterpieces including The Great Dictator. The movie is a satire on the machine age which to man becoming a machine, performing the same action again and again. The movie is just marvelous and it highly recommended to see this movie as soon as possible.

A Separation - 2011

A Separation is an award winning movie currently nominated for Academy Award for Foreign Language. It is a Persian movie set in contemporary Iran. The movie got 99% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Most people would not be able to enjoy as it is difficult to watch a movie while reading the subtitles and due to the fact that many people are not accustomed to enjoy this kind of movie. So, for those who are intellectual or those who think they are, should watch this movie while it is not recommended for others to watch it.

The Pink Panther - 2006

The Pink Panther tried to revive the series and successfully became the highest grossing movie of the series. Steve Martin has beautifully played the role of Inspector Jacques Clouseau. It is a good comedy movie even though it was given very poor reviews by critics. 

Justice League Doom - 2012

Justice League Doom is a good animation movie, even though the viewer knows it from the very beginning that Justice League is supposed to win in the end. It shares a few things with the movie The Man From Earth as the chief enemy says that he has been living since 80,000 years. Animation lovers should see this one and others can too as it is a feel-good movie.

The Man From Earth - 2007

The Man From Earth is an interesting science-fiction movie. The plot of the movie focuses on John Oldman who claims to a Cro-Magnon(first early modern humans) who has survived for 14,000 years. The movie might be boring for some and entertaining for others depending upon the fact that what kind of movies do you like to watch.

Sadgati - 1981

An excellent movie by Satyajit Ray based on the story of the same name by Munshi Premchand. The movies has just 52 minutes of running time but many things have been shown in this short period of time. Om Puri, Smita Patil and Mohan Agashe have the lead roles. 

Khuda Ke Liye - 2007

Directed by Shoaib Mansoor, the movie shows the problems that occur due to wrong interpretation of Islam and the Holy Quran. Naseeruddin Shah also plays an important role in the movie, which is the most important part, in which he tells what Islam is and what it is not. I have seen the movie two times in the past and both the times i saw something new in it.

Ocean's Trilogy

Ocean's Trilogy is a series of three caper comedies(heist films) which gained good critical reception, with Ocean's Eleven being the most successful one. One hopes to see another sequel to this series but the issue has been buried after the dead of Bernie Mac. This is an entertainment series and should be seen if you don't want to burden your mind and instead relieve the stress out of it.

Rush Hour Trilogy

All the three movies are awesome action-comedies. All the movies have become commercially very successful movies. The movie series stars Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker. If you seek Full 2 Enjoyment then no other movie series is better then this one. After seeing the third movie, one feels like that there should be more sequels in this movie series. I enjoyed it very much and hope you do so.

Mausam - 2011

Mausam is the directorial debut of renowned actor Pankaj Kapoor. The movie tells an old fashion story of love but even then a few new things were added by the director. I liked it and don't know about anybody else, worth a try.

Children of Heaven - 1997

Children of Heaven is a masterpiece by Iranian Film Director Majid Majidi. It was nominated for Academy Award for Foreign Language Film but lost to Life is Beautiful. The movie focuses around the story of two children, brother and sister, who share a single pair of shoe. An Indian version of the movie (Bumm Bumm Bole) was released in 2010 but it failed to deliver in Indian Cinema. Coming back to this movie, this is a must watch movie and others should be motivated to see this movie.

The movie has won an Academy Award for Best Picture and many others. But to be very true i want to tell you that i was not able to complete the movie. First of all i wasn't tempted to do so and even if i tried i could not do so. I felt that it was very boring. Even then anyone wishing to see what sort of movies get Academy Award aka Oscars, can try this.

Million Dollar Baby - 2004

Sometimes i feel like watching Oscar winner movies and this was one of them. Million Dollar Baby won 4 Academy Awards including the Best Picture. It is a very much realistic movie which i like the most while watching movies. It is a Boxing based movie. For those who like sports ,especially Boxing, and those who would like to see a good movie which has a long lasting effect on a person, this is a must watch movie.

Life Is Beautiful - 1997

Life is Beautiful( La vita è bella) is a beautiful Italain movie as it's name. It shows the life of a particular Jewish-Italian family in a Nazi concentration camp. The father uses his imagination to keep his family alive. In the end he dies but his wife and his son are reunited again. The movie won three Academy Awards including Best Actor for Roberto Benigni and Best Foreign Language film. This is a seriously must watch movie.

Parzania is an Indian English language movie and is based on a true story. The movie portrays the communal riots of 2002 in Gujarat. Whatever critics say that it a pro-Muslim movie and else. But i would say that this is an amazing movie and should be seen.

The desire to live is depicted in this movie made by Danny Boyle. The movie is based on an autobiography by Aaron Ralston who is a mountain climber.

Rango - 2011

Rango is a marvelous computer animated movie. It tells the story of a chameleon. It is nominated for Best Animated Feature Film for 84th Academy Awards and is awaiting result and has won many other awards for best animated movie including the BAFTA, ANNIE etc. The movie has received highly positive reviews and is a must watch for animation lovers and i would recommend to even those who don't like animations.

Khamosh Pani - 2004

One of the best, or may be the best movies in Punjabi language. It stars Kiron Kher in lead role and was directed by Pakistani director Sabiha Sumar. The movie won a Golden Leopard for Best Film alongside a few more awards. This is a must watch movie.

The Adventures of Tintin - 2011

The movie is based on  three of the original comic books: The Crab with the Golden Claws (1941), The Secret of the Unicorn (1943), and Red Rackham's Treasure(1944). It has won many awards including the Golden Globe award for best animation. It has awesome graphics and characters look as if they are original people.
Even if you have seen the cartoon serial for this episode it won't create a problem as this is something much more than a 20 min. cartoon episode.

Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu - 2012

An awesome movie starring Imran Khan and Kareena Kapoor . The movie not like any other love story and has a unique ending to it rather than the usual one. The movie borrows a few things from 3 Idiots. I liked the movie very much and i would like to tell everybody to not ignore the movie by just reading the name thinking that it is just a love story instead it is much more.

Midnight in Paris - 2011

Midnight in Paris is masterpiece of direction and shows the state of human mind. It a comedy-fantasy movie . The protagonist is a wanna be novelist but is dissatisfied with his present and thinks that he should have been born in the Golden Era of English literature i.e. during the time of Ernest Hemingway , Scott Fitzgerald , T.S. Elliot etc., whom he actually meets during the movie. His journey to the past starts with the stroke of a midnight. His to be father-in-law suspects him and sends a detective behind him who gets lost in the Renaissance period. The movie has won a Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture and is nominated for Academy Award in many categories. 

The Help - 2011

The Help is an Academy Award nominated movie and has won many other awards. It is a heist cast movie, in which all the main characters have equal importance. It portrays the American society during early Twentieth century from the angle of the blacks. Acting in the movie has been very good. It is based on a novel of the same  name. I would recommend this book to everybody who has read this post.
